- development of network functions for 5G, mobile and WiF networks
- virtualization of these network functions using modern cloud infrastructure
- planning of architecture for distribution in our global data centres
- project-specific collaboration with our customers and other divisions
- mentoring for team members
Your experiences…
- final degree in IT or vocational training in communications engineering; electrical engineering or a similar educational training with years of experience
- extensive knowledge of established network and routing protocols (IP, TCP, BGP, OSPF)
- profound knowledge of architecture and functions of mobile networks (3GPP, GSMA) and commonly used protocols (GTP, Diameter, RADIUS, SS7, etc.)
- proven competence in problem analysing of network functions including tracing and the relevant tools (pcap, tcpdump, Wireshark etc.)
- substantial knowledge in Linux and DPDK network-stack as well as their usage for network functions
- architecture and implementation of network functions in C/C++ while using standard frameworks like VPP, Linux Network Stack, BPF, DPDK
- integration of these functions with api interfaces to control planes and cloud native management functions (gRPC, REST, message APIs) and to programming languages like Golang, Erlang and Scripting
- good knowledge in cloud native software development and operating (virtualisation, container, orchestration) and relevant tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana etc.)
- safe handling of Linux based systems for software developing and operations
- experiences in using and operating open source projects, tools and their community
- safe handling of Git, Github, Gitlab regarding software development processes and source code management
- some experience in software development methodology like SCRUM, KANBAN etc.
